Yoga and Plant With Roos
Netherlands
Приєднався 29 бер 2007
Hi! My name is Roos (the Dutch spelling for Rose!)
This channel is about making your life and home a bit greener and more joyful. Plants really helped me get through a burnout, the feeling of accomplishment when I couldn't do much else except take care of them was very helpful - plant therapy!
I also make videos about going on adventures. From plant shops and yoga to travel and living as sustainable and vegan as possible while still going with the flow. I make videos to help you find stillness as well as joy and pleasure.
Want to like your own body more? Check my videos about body positivity and self love. I also have a course on this www.yogawithroos.com/course
Why me?
I've been doing yoga for nearly 20 years and I've been teaching for the past 10. I'm a fulltime yoga teacher in Holland and abroad (that's why my videos are in English) and I organise events and retreats. I want to help you connect to your body, so you can see the beauty that is already there. Let's connect!

You should make a video on how to tell where a growth point is likely to pop up when chopping and propagating a monstera albo because I have a half moon plant and when I get prop I get all green new growths 😢
Begonias continue to amaze me with how stunning they can be! I have a begonia red robin and it literally looks glittery like your blue one! So pretty!
I have 2 ferns that have a very blue colour 💙
Yesss ferns can also be incredible!!
love your content
Thank you very much!
❤❤❤ hi beautiful muneca cachetona hermosa u have a beautiful day ❤❤❤

@@plantwithroos hi beautiful muneca no plans for 4 July??
I'm Dutch, there's no special day here 😅 so I taught yoga and am editing
@@plantwithroos where are u from??
Your cats are beautiful 😍
Thank you very much!
This is so informative! Thank you!
Happy to help! 🙏🏻❤️
Do thai giants go dormant over the winter or do they stay this way?
I've seen the big ones at the botanical gardens go into dormancy but since they improved the greenhouses (temperature) they made it through the winter there. In my house my small one also made it through winter. So.. They can but probably not in the right climate? It's my first year growing one myself so I'm no expert!
Happy birthday 🎈🎊🎁 to you
Thank you!
You showed your Bella having thrip damage. I’m trying to figure out if flatmites are literally chewing the leaves of my Hoya or could it be thrips? I haven’t seen any pests on them with my wifi microscope but something is eating the leaves. Tfs
I don't always see thrips or flatmites (even with a microscope) but the damage on the leaves tells me everything ☠️🙄
Hope you’re feeling better. 😊 really enjoy your videos
Thank you! Feeling better, but another busy event next week so I'm trying to take it easy in between things ❤️
Happy birthday Roos! 🎉 I also turn 40 this year! ❤
That's awesome! It's not at all bad in my opinion 🥰❤️
Happy belated Birthday wishes to you Roos, you don’t look 40. I love your Florida ghost and the Hoya clemensiorum
Thank you very much! ♥️
Thats the most perfect queen anthurium I’ve ever seen… maybe I should just keep mine on a prop box as well😅😅😅
Hahaha right?? I really want her to stay this pretty now - if I had not moved her back into the terrarium (several times), who knows how big she would have been by now!
My thompsonii is slow but still alive 🎉 my hoya bella had 12 blooms and then decided to kill herself so I am in the process of proping and trying to save her . Clemensiorum is on my wishlist 👍
Oop! I'm very curious what exactly I'm doing to make the thomsonii so fast, I have no idea!
❤
❤️
Happy birthday 🎉 Beautiful new growth all around.😻
Thank you! Yeah it's growing well 🥰
Happy birthday 🎉🎉🎉 sorry about the mail
Thank you! I'll make it work
Ohh I can totally understand your obsession with Monstera Albos, love mine idolatrous 😂🥰
Haha they're just so fun and easy and beautiful!
Glad that you’re feeling better! Wow, that Queen 💌
Thank you! Isn't she stunning??
🎉Happy belated birthday🥳 Hope that you had a wonderful day 🤗💚
Thank you very much!
Im Jerry from TEXAS love you take care ❤
Thanks Jerry! Hope you're doing well
The pots are so cute! I don't see fragile stickers or labels on the box. Maybe she can write it next time all around so the mailers don't play foot ball 😅
She wrote it very big on the box - in Dutch. Thank you!
Wat een haat naar postnl
Valt wel mee toch voor hoe kapot mijn potten waren? Ze konden zelf iig lachen om mijn video dus no worries
That amount of bubble wrap and still delivered broken? I should reconsider my packaging…
i never had anything arrive broken from her and ordered a lot. this was in my opinion a shipping issue
@@plantwithroos Definitely. It’s not a news that logistics companies treat packages badly, but the fact that level of protection is not enough is somewhat unbelievable for me. Maybe I will put extra cushioning material inside the craft (if hollow) or between arms/legs next time I send (I’m a craft guy btw, so this kind of situation breaks my heart)
Yeah it's such a shame - it had bubble wrap, packing paper all around the pots AND packing peanuts!
Sorry for the late reply.... but happy birthdayyy ❤❤
Thank youuuu! Feels like we're extending my birthday this way so I don't mind late 😅👌
suggestion... the color and shape of the big pot is perfect if used for Kintsugi... there is beauty in imperfection
That's the plan! I've tried it before and hope this time goes better 🤭❤️
Please 🙏 Very gated monstera give me
🤭 variegated. I will sell a few on my instagram stories in the next few months (depending on the weather). Keep an eye on there
Hopefully you or Nathalie had shipping insurance to cover the cost of the damages!! Happy belated birthday!! 🥰
There was no insurance but i will fix them and she said she'll send me a replacement in a while (it's not glazed yet) 👌❤️
Расскажите про грунт для хойи .как вы делаете ..
Hey my soil mix is the same for Hoya as for my aroids: an airy mix. I have a video on here of how I make it, or I buy the Philo or Anthurium mix from @soilninja (my code PLANTWITHROOS will give you a discount ❤️)
Красота да и только 😊
Thank you!
Happy birthday!! Sorry for the late reply 😅 | i hope you can fix the broken pots
Haha thank you! ❤️
Aw❤ those are beautiful. Sad that a few are broken
Thank you - I'll make a video of how I fix them ❤️
King of spades ❤
That's the one I picked!
I’m sorry but Happy Birthday 🥳
Thank you! ❤️❤️
Oh poor broken pots 💔 hope you can fix them xx
Yeah so sad! I'm thinking sand the yellow one down so it's just short legs and kintsugi the bigger pot
I had scale on an olive tree I purchased. Sprayed them off with the hose "center" setting and it definitely got them off. I don't know the long term results as it was done today. Perhpas I'll spray with neem oil as well.
The domes are just the final stage so make sure to keep an eye on the plant, the tiny ones will create new domes!
These are all so beautiful! Happy late birthday to you! ❤️
Thank you very much!
Awesome looking bug. Looks like something From Software would have used as inspiration.
I have genuinely never seen this beneficial bug before!! They're super cute. They look similar to some of the species of isopods I use in my tropical terrariums.
right?? so cute! they're a type of ladybug larva, so not related to isopods but yes similarly adorable - i use them too in my terrariums!
I'm probably too late but I vote velvet mask!!! 😍
I picked the other option this tiny but will try different combinations with future inflos!
These seem the same thing as woodlice ...which are good for breaking down wood but bad if they start eating roots. Theyre a good indicator that your pots are getting dry and if they hang out around the roots of woody plants that your woody plants may have a problem. They only eat dead wood if they are woodlice which they look like but maybe paler looking.
they are not woodlice (isopods), i have those in my bioactive terraria! they're amazing. these are different.
@@plantwithroos ah I see i dont think we have mealy bugs here in ireland cos ive never seen them so i thought it might be the american name for woodlice. Lol! My bad thanks for the correction. Also cos ive never seen a mealy bug curl up in a ball which i think ive heard people describe something similar but it rolls up. A roly poly bug? So so so many bugs. When you sit in the grass and start looking around its insane how many different bugs there are.
@@Padraigp ah haha no but you're right, woodlice have many many names. mealybugs for sure are in ireland too (I'm in the netherlands), but if you haven't seen them good for you!! keep it that way haha. they prefer succulent plants or hoya, so if you are in a garden or greenhouse look up close and you might see some white fluff which is an indicator. they do look a bit similar in shape to woodlice but they are a lot smaller - hard to spot on plants unless they're as mature as the ones i showed. nature is amazing!
@@plantwithroos they look similar to a thing we got on our apple tree ...but they crawl up and make this sort of cocoon of white around them and then sucks. The tree and you just see this white cobwebby stuff but inside its a bug ..kinda like a cochineal red bug. A lot of plants and bugs have such different names even among different families like my friend and i as kids used to argue about whether a creature beady body (which is like a spider with a roundy body and only 6 legs) or a crane fly. Cos her mom called them crane flies and my mom called them beady bodies and called a big mosquito looking fly with big long legs a crane fly... and then another kid came up and said its a daddy long legs. We had a huge argument for years about it. Lol 🤣
Kos!!!
That's the one I ended up going with!
❤
Why did you choose these instead of green lacewing?
Here in Europe/the Netherlands, these are much more common to use than lacewings! Btw I didn't choose them, the company I work with advises them. I send them a list of pests and they send the best treatment bugs
Hi beautiful muneca cachetona hermosa u have a beautiful day
I hope your mom is doing great! Also about her monstera Thai con that you propagated with her?
Mum is doing great! She just visited this past weekend. Her Monstera (not Thai but deliciosa variegata small form) is also going great!
@@plantwithroos that’s grate!
Ime, as long as there is one green spot, or even a thin line, you're ok as long as you have lots of light. As with all things planty, light is key!
Yess light is so important! From my experience most important is a stable environment so I'm not changing anything 🤭❤️
How do u purchase the good bugs?
I get them from Entocare.nl - they're in the Netherlands. It's best to get them from a company local to you as they're shipping live bugs ❤️
